Expert advisors to young companies

Brad Bernthal is an Associate Professor at the University of Colorado Law School, where he also is the Director of the Entrepreneurship Initiative at the Silicon Flatirons Center. He holds a law degree from CU and a bachelor's from the University of Kansas, and practiced law in San Francisco, Denver and Boulder.

Jason Mendelson is co-founder and managing director of Foundry Group, a VC firm that invests in early-stage IT companies. Before he was a VC, he was a lawyer at Cooley, and before that, a software engineer at Accenture. His undergrad and law degrees are both from Michigan.

Mike Platt is a partner at Cooley's Colorado office, representing emerging growth companies and the investors who support them. He holds the JD, Order of the Coif, from University of California, Hastings College of the Law, and an undergrad business degree from CU.

Brad Feld has been an early-stage investor and entrepreneur since 1987. Before co-founding Foundry Group, he co-founded Mobius Venture Capital and founded Intensity Ventures, a company that helped launch and operate software companies. He serves on the board of directors of a number of Foundry Group portfolio companies, as well as Startup Weekend and the Application Developers Alliance and is chair of the National Center for Women & Information Technology. A graduate of MIT, Brad is well on the way to his goal of running a marathon in all 50 states.
